Nice place, an old Wendy's based on the skylight seating on the side. Great happy hour drink specials like 32 oz drafts for $4.99 and cheaper domestic beers too! Original chimi was excellent, chicken dish with chipotle sauce was amazing, choripollo incredible, and seafood mix (shrimp, scallops, chicken) also fantastic. Ask for the hot salsa too -- really wonderful!
My new go-to Mexican restaurant in the area, the food was good and the serving size was massive. The prices were good and left full and still had leftovers for a meal the next day. Had the Don Ramon Molcajete and didn't expect it to have so much food on it. Would definitely eat here again!
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back.
Had the steak and chorizo tacos and they were probably some of the best tacos I’ve had in awhile. Guac and hot sauces were especially excellent.
First, the chips and salsa , the salsa actually had flavor and a little zing , I had the choripollo , chicken breast covered in chorizo , cheese and jalapenos , along with rice and beans , very good . My wife had the chicken mole , which is chicken breast cut into strips and covered in a mole sauce (which was a favorite for me as a youngster when my Mom made it) also with rice and beans . I had to sample some of the wife's , it was delicious .
Ok so my wife and I were in the area and decided to give them a try. We live in Waukesha but will definitely be coming back with the family.
We ordered the "Molcajete" which in Mexico is used to make salsa, but here it is used to serve a few lomo steaks, about 8 pieces of shrimp, a couple of marinated chicken breast, some chorizo, all covered in Chihuahua cheese, in a delicious salsa (not spicy) with zucchini and nopalitos (small pieces of catcus).
It also came with rice, beans, quesadillas, and a salad, all some of the best we've had at a Mexican restaurant. Besides the great tasting food, everything was reasonably priced and the service was great too!
Ordered the Pollo Street Tacos and I was not disappointed.... They were DELICIOUS!! I had to stop after my first bite to take a picture so I could include it in this post. Highly recommend.
The food is fresh and fast - it was actually impressive how fast the food came out! It was all very tasty. We had a fiesta burrito and steak alambre. The guacamole is also really good - the small serving is perfect for 2 people. The servers were speedy and wonderful, and the bussers were on their A game. The restaurant is very clean too. My only complaint is their table set up in the center is a little weird, the table that's on the corner feels like it's a bit in the way. Beyond that, we will definitely come back.
Since the owner past away and new management took over this place has gone down in service and quality. Food is ok at best now and wait staff will delay putting in drinks if it is close to drink specials ending. We also order margaritas and got the wrong ones, actually was the table next to us. We told our wait staff that they were not ours and then charged us for the wrong ones and then charged for the ones we ordered. When asked about this as the wrong drinks we taken off the table the wait staff and manager just blew us off.
